Full Repair Scope in Acordance with API 653
Providing a repair scope as early as possible during an inspection can allow for a faster turnaround.
Repair recommendations based on API653, AS1940 and required remaining life for customer operational requirements.
AIC Inspection Services can prepare repair scope, manage and supervise the repairs and carry out post repair inspections. We are also able to liaise with your preferred welding contractor or employees to ensure repairs are performed according to the correct standards.

Qualified Welders and Procedures
We only use welders who are experienced and qualified for tank repairs.
API 653 requires,
- Welding procedures in accordance with ASME IX.
- Welding personnel qualified accordance with ASME IX.
- Correct materail selection
- Welding supervision, inspection & testing of repairs.

Welding Procedure Development
We have developed a number of welding procedures for various tank repairs. Every tank is different and we are able to quickly prepare an ASME IX compliant procedure if a new procedure is required. This process may include taking samples and analysis of the tank material.

Post Repair Inspection
Inspection of repairs is required to ensure the ongoing integrity of the tank after both minor and major repairs. We can assist in post repair inspection performing,
After minor repairs,
- Vacuum box testing of weld repairs.
- Magnetic particle testing of weld repairs.
After major repairs, - Ultrasonic or radiographic testing of welds. - Hydrostatic testing.
- Settlement surveying of tank during hydo.
